Holocene reads a file you choose and writes what it contains into Apple Health on your device. Your health data is not sent anywhere. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising.
Last updated 18 August 2026.
Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with third parties, and never written to iCloud or any other remote storage.
An import log: the date of each import, the name of the file, how many readings of each type it held, and the identifiers needed to remove those readings again. The log holds no health values. It lives in the app's own container and is deleted when you delete the app.
Holocene contains no networking code. It makes no requests, to us or to anyone else. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing is collected.
Holocene asks for permission only to write, and only for the health types the file you are importing actually contains. A file of heart-rate readings will not prompt for anything else.
You can review or revoke this at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Holocene. Revoking write permission stops Holocene writing that type; it does not remove what was already written — use History in the app, or delete the samples in the Health app.
Holocene is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Material changes to this policy will be published on this page and noted in the app's release notes.
